History

Jill's House, Inc. is named in honor of Jill Behrman, an Indiana University student and beloved Bloomington resident. She was abducted while riding her bicycle on the morning of May 31, 2000. It was also built in honor of Steven Howard, who lost his battle with cancer at age 19.

In remembering Jill Behrman and Steve Howard - and the anguish associated with the shortness of their lives - Jill's House strives to be a place of comfort and peace for others who are suffering.

Pictured at the left are Jill and Steve's parents, the four founders of Jill's House. From left to right: Marilyn Berhrman, Bud Howard, Peg Howard, Eric Behrman

The video below is a retrospective of Jill Behrman's life, and remembers the tremendous outpouring of community support in searching for her.
